For over a century Oregon nut growers knew themselves as “Filbert growers” and we still celebrate that tradition. As Oregon production expanded in 1981, the Oregon Filbert Commission adapted to the common European name of “Hazelnut,” thus, the Oregon Hazelnut Commission of today.
